Tour Mobile Field Study Lab for Grand Opening of PEAKS Collegiate Campus

Students, parents, and the community are invited to tour the Livingstone Range School Division and Lethbridge Polytechnic Mobile Field Study Lab to celebrate the grand opening of PEAKS Collegiate Campus on September 23, 2024.

The Field Study Lab will be an indispensable component of the PEAKS Collegiate Campus experience. This newly funded collegiate school — in partnership with Lethbridge Polytechnic and based at PEAKS Campus in the Crowsnest Pass — will provide students with a clear pathway into post-secondary education and careers in environmental science.

Enjoy a brief introduction and tour of the four-season lab at the location of your choice on September 23, 2024:

  • 9:00-9:30am J.T. Foster High School (2501 22 Street, Nanton)
  • 10:15-10:45am Willow Creek Composite High School (628 55 Ave W, Claresholm)
  • 11:15am-12:00pm F.P. Walshe School (1600 6 Ave, Fort Macleod)
  • 1:00-1:30pm Matthew Halton High School (945 Davidson Ave, Pincher Creek)
  • 2:15-3:00pm Crowsnest Consolidated High School (8901 20 Ave, Coleman)

PEAKS Collegiate Campus delivers hands-on and virtual programming for Grade 7-12 students to explore interests and pursue high school/post-secondary dual credit pathways in botany, zoology, physical geology, and ecology. These foundational courses lead to exciting career pathways in environmental assessment and restoration, natural resource compliance, and renewable resources management. Dual credit pathways allow students to:

  • Choose courses of interest to increase engagement and agency;
  • Build skills and confidence for successful post-secondary and workforce transition; and
  • Earn high school and post-secondary credits transferable to other programs so nothing is wasted.

Community partners interested in student mentorship and practicums, or sponsorship opportunities are invited to the grand opening Field Study Lab tour or may contact Chad Kuzyk, Associate Superintendent of Programs and Innovation at 403-625-3356.
